Key features

Integrated Gaiter

Provides extra insulation during extreme conditions and protects against snow.

Extreme Protection

Added space for insulating liner keeps the feet warm in extreme conditions. Chosen for countless expeditions to the North and South Pole.

Reinforced with Kevlar on exposed areas for durability.

An extremely comfortable BC-boot with an integrated gaiter that is reinforced with Kevlar on exposed areas. The boot has been developed specifically for expeditions and long journeys on skis in extremely cold conditions. Polar A/P/S also has a specially developed last that ensures you have room for liner. It also has extra insulation within the sole. The boot has been used on a wide range of expeditions, both to the North and South Poles, however, it is also suitable for simpler expeditions in cold conditions.

The boots are developed especially for use with liner. We recommend buying the boot 2 sizes larger than normal for use with liner during extreme conditions.

Liners are purchased separately and are available in accessories.

Certain snow/crust conditions are an extreme strain on the shoes materials, and with use under such conditions increased wear is expected.

  • EXP Gaiter (BC)

Integrated durable Cordura with additional reinforcement on the inside. Provides extra insulation under extreme conditions and protects against snow.

Sole Technologies

  • BC Sole

Rottefella BC sole for optimum stability, and thereby contributes to good control in rough terrain and under varying snow conditions. The sole has good insulation properties.

  • Standard L-Board

Standard L-board that provides support and stability adapted to the shoe's application area.

  • Insulator Insole

An anatomically designed insole made from insulating felt as well as breathable materials with good absorbency that keep your feet warm and dry. The sole has an antibacterial surface that helps prevent odors.

Fit & Support

  • Expedition Fit

Specially designed fit that provides plenty of space for liner, woolen cardboard or double polar socks.

  • Combo Lacing System

Lacing system that combines open and lockable hooks. Allows individual adjustment of ankle and forefoot.

Other Featues

  • Easy Entry Loops

Easy entry loops make the boots easy to take on and off.

  • Internal Heel Counter

Heel reinforcements made of plastic that provide better support. An ergonomic and stable heel cap locks the foot in the boot, anchors it to the midsole and reduces the risk of blisters.

  • Toe Protector

A rubber-coated reinforcement that protects the boot from abrasion.

  • Snow Crust Protector

Extra layers of full grain leather that protect the lower part of the boot, which is particularly prone to wear, especially in snow with an ice crust.

Size chart

Size chart

Place a paper close to the wall and with bare feet place the foot on the paper, with your heel to the wall. Since it is important to stand up straight, preferably have someone help you draw a line in front of the longest toe. Remember to measure both feet as they might not be identical. With a ruler, confirm the measurement in centimeters and add additional space according to the list below.

Hunting and Hiking

  • Hiking Low and Hiking Mid approx. add 1 cm.
  • Mountain, Hunting and Winter boots add approx. 1.5 cm.

Skiing boots

  • Racing add approx. 1 cm.
  • Backcountry, Touring and Expedition add approx. 1.5 cm

  • Low and Mid add approx. 1 cm.
  • High add approx. 1.5 cm.
