Alfa hiking boots combine Norwegian outdoor-heritage craftsmanship with modern materials and technologies. They offer features such as high-quality waterproof membranes (e.g., GORE-TEX®), durable uppers (leather or the AlfaAir™ multi-layer material), solid outsoles for grip, and designs that support long journeys in varied terrain.
Yes — many Alfa hiking boots are equipped with GORE-TEX® to keep feet dry while allowing breathability. For example, the Walk King Air model uses an AlfaAir™ upper + GORE-TEX® membrane for waterproofing.
It depends on your terrain, pack weight, support needs and material preference. We have created a quiz to make the choice easier for you.
Leather (often full-grain or nubuck) – durable, provides insulation and stability.
ALFAAir™ – a multi-layer synthetic upper material that is significantly lighter than leather, highly durable, breathable, maintenance-free and quick-drying.
Additionally, all hiking boots incorporate GORE-TEX®, and soles/outsoles designed for grip in rough terrain (e.g., Vibram® variants).
Alfa hiking boots are equipped with high-performance outsoles from Vibram® wth different rubber mix for different needs.
Alfa hiking boots are designed for movement. They are lighter, more flexible, and shaped for walking — perfect for covering longer distances in the mountains or on trails with changing elevation.
Alfa hunting boots are built for demanding terrain, long days, and variable conditions. They provide even more solid ankle- and foot support when carrying heavy gear, protection from wet ground, mud, and undergrowth. The fit is slightly firmer for stability and precision, helping you move confidently and quietly in uneven terrain.
Both share Alfa’s signature qualities — durability, waterproof protection, and premium materials — but they’re fine-tuned for different kinds of adventure:
→ Hiking boots for freedom and flow.
→ Hunting boots for endurance and stability.
Hiking boots have a higher cut and firmer construction, offering better ankle support, durability and protection—ideal for rough terrain, heavy loads or multi-day hikes.
Hiking shoes are lighter, lower-cut and more flexible, making them better suited for shorter, easier trails or day hikes where comfort and agility matter more.
Winter boots are tailored to cold-weather conditions, focusing on insulation and icy-terrain grip. For example the winter boots collection mentions features like “insulated, ice-grip outsoles” and colder conditions. The winter boots emphasise warmth and ice surfaces; hiking boots emphasise terrain variability, support and distance.
